The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) protects the rights of socially and educationally backward classes. Established by the 1993 Act, it advises the government on OBC lists. In 2018, it gained constitutional status and expanded powers. The NCBC safeguards backward classes and monitors related policies.
